Bangladesh’s Only University Department with a Complete Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.
The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) at Daffodil International University (DIU) has reinforced its hands-on approach to entrepreneurship through its latest Business Simulation & Sales Competition.

The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) at Daffodil International University (DIU) recently organized its Business Simulation & Sales Competition, where first-semester students pitched real business ideas before senior students, mentors, and aspiring investors in a startup-style environment.
A total of 20 teams from Batch 33, each consisting of five students, participated in the competition. In a remarkable outcome, every participating team secured both mentorship and investment support, allowing them to advance the development of their startup ideas.Designed to mirror the realities of entrepreneurship, the competition goes beyond classroom learning by requiring students to validate ideas, develop business models, pitch ventures, answer investor questions, and compete for funding. Through this hands-on experience, participants gain practical skills in business planning, communication, financial strategy, teamwork, negotiation, and investor engagement from the very beginning of their university journey.
The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship follows an experiential learning model that integrates startup creation into its academic curriculum. Through business simulations, pitching competitions, mentorship, incubation support, industry collaboration, and investment opportunities, students are encouraged to transform innovative ideas into sustainable ventures while completing their undergraduate studies.
Guided by its long-standing philosophy, "Learning Business by Doing Business," the department believes entrepreneurship is best learned through real-world practice rather than textbooks alone. Students develop entrepreneurial capabilities by building businesses, solving practical problems, collaborating with industry experts, and receiving mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs. As Bangladesh's startup ecosystem continues to evolve, universities are playing an increasingly important role in developing graduates who can become job creators rather than job seekers.
The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Daffodil International University has established a comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports students throughout the entire startup journey—from idea generation and business validation to pitching, mentorship, investment, incubation, and venture growth.
The successful completion of this year's Business Simulation & Sales Competition, where every participating team received both a mentor and investment support, reflects the department's continued commitment to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators in Bangladesh.
