The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division is set to organize a special event titled "Youth, Startups and the Bangladesh of Possibilities" on 14 July 2026 at the Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building, University of Dhaka, as part of its continued efforts to strengthen Bangladesh's startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The initiative reflects the government's broader vision of transforming innovative ideas into sustainable businesses, creating technology-driven employment opportunities, fostering research and innovation, and building a knowledge-based economy.

According to the ICT Division, Bangladesh has been steadily advancing its startup ecosystem through a series of integrated initiatives that support entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey. From idea generation and prototype development to entrepreneurship training, mentorship, grants, financing, investment linkages, and business expansion, the Division has been implementing comprehensive programmes designed to help startups grow and succeed.

The upcoming event aims to further strengthen these initiatives by presenting government support programmes in an integrated manner while fostering stronger collaboration among young entrepreneurs, students, researchers, innovators, women entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem stakeholders. Participants will also gain insights into the complete startup lifecycle—from idea generation and prototype development to entrepreneurial growth, investment, scaling, and access to global markets.

A major highlight of the programme will be the official inauguration of the National Startup and Entrepreneurship Platform, which is expected to serve as Bangladesh's national digital launchpad for entrepreneurs.

Through this platform, entrepreneurs will be able to access information and services related to government support programmes, application procedures, training opportunities, mentorship, investment opportunities, partner organizations, and other entrepreneurship-related resources from a single digital platform. The initiative is expected to strengthen coordination among entrepreneurship development programmes, simplify access to public services, and contribute to building a more effective and connected national startup ecosystem.

The ICT Division noted that empowering the innovative potential of young people and women through entrepreneurship has become a national priority. Reflecting this commitment, the Election Manifesto 2026 of the Government of Bangladesh places special emphasis on startup and entrepreneurship development as a key pillar for innovation-driven economic growth and employment generation.

To further support promising founders, the government has already established a BDT 500 crore Startup Fund, which is expected to play a significant role in financing innovative ventures and accelerating the growth of high-potential startups across the country.

According to the ICT Division, "Youth, Startups and the Bangladesh of Possibilities" is more than a one-day event. It represents a national initiative that brings together Bangladesh's innovation potential, entrepreneur-friendly government support, investment opportunities, and the country's commitment to entrepreneurship development on a single platform.

The Division has also encouraged the country's youth to pursue innovation with confidence, emphasizing that today's innovative ideas have the potential to become tomorrow's globally recognized Bangladeshi enterprises. Entrepreneurs have been urged to leverage the Government of Bangladesh's integrated National Startup and Entrepreneurship Platform to access available support programmes and transform their ideas into successful ventures.
